PPR on the day & Pre-registration mandatory.

29th & 30th Private RV Fly-in, 31st Open to public.

Camping will be permitted on the airfield for visiting aircraft.

This is the first of what will hopefully become an annual event with your support.

More information on North Weald

The link above to the Air Britain web site that has lots of information on the location and Hotels etc that was published for an earlier fly-in. Air Britain are providing North Weald with ground support on Friday and Saturday but due to earlier committments may need some help with parking arrivals on Sunday - volunteers are welcome ! For any EU arrivals a GEN DEC faxed to the North Weald Squadron +44(0) 1992 522238 at least four hours prior to expected arrival is all that is required for UK Customs.

Departure flight plans can be filed at North Weald up to one hour prior to departure. The airfield is open for arrivals and departures from 0900 - 1900 local time.

Weather info is available from the Squadron Office computer.

Avgas 100LL is available, currently £1.76/litre. Duty Free Fuel is not available.

In addition to the 1800metre 02/20 hard runway the grass runway 02/20 will be available subject to weather.

All types of aircraft are welcome. We are currently expecting 50 + RVs of various marks.

Gloster Airparts, Andair and Harry Hopkins (UK rep for Vans information) will be there.

North Weald have been provided with the information regarding aircraft registered to attend. However, it a local requirement that all aircraft obtain PPR directly from North Weald on +44(0) 1992 524510. No aircraft will be refused PPR, this process is to allow some spacing of arrivals to minimise aircraft holding in the local area.

All aircraft please be careful not to infringe the Stansted CTR/CTA and also avoid over flying local villages and minimise noise etc. Stapleford Airfield is close by to the South and has busy circuit.

I strongly recommend arriving and departing aircraft not familiar with the area contact Southend Radar/Approach 130.775 or Farnborough Radar North 132.80.

UPDATE I have been successful in getting some sponsorship at the last minute for the North Weald RV fly-in. The result is that -

1. The aircraft making the longest inbound journey will receive £100 of free fuel.

2. The first 60 RVs to attend will get a a £10 fuel discount on a purchase of 50 litres or more.

3. The first 60 RVs to arrive will receive a £5 voucher to spend at the North Weald NAAFI.
